It's so handy having a model living with you! Laurel came home the other night with a lovely hairdo courtesy of the Jeremy Laing runway show, so we took a quick run into the studio to document it. Then we played around with some extensions that were sitting around and made image #2. It was a nice way for both of us to purge a day of hard commercial work with some goofing off.
On Wednesday Cynthia, Michelle Carimpong and Nevio @ Oliver Piro and I shot the Ports 1961 collection in stills and video for Codigo mag. Olivia @ Muse was the model. We banged out all the looks and the film in 3 hours flat, since Olivia had to take off for a fashion show -- that was a record for us, even though we are generally quite speedy. Look out for the film soon. Eclipse's are so hot for spring. Or something. What is the proper plural for eclipse?
A bunch of my images, the 'Hair Do story" as well as a story I did with Kate Cusak's wigs and Timoxa @ Supreme, are going to be published in this new book by Gestalten press, out later this month. Here is what the publisher has to say about the book:
"Hair'em Scare'em presents an extraordinary exploration through the fascinating beauty and inventive possibilities of hair as a medium for artistic expression in contemporary art and design. The book documents this palpable trend into a visual sourcebook that presents a captivating collection of hairy works in graphic design, photography, illustration and art as well as interior design, fashion and jewelry design. The extraordinary works featured in this book are the best indication of trends in hair outside the mainstream."
If you're in the market for an amazing face, look no further than Amanda Schmidt @ Elite. Flawless skin and face. No bad angles. 100% A+. Styling by Jessica Bobince, hair by Melanie Harris @ Oliver Piro, makeup by Georgie Sandev.
this really has nothing to do with fashion or photography but we have a lot of cats and i love these cute animal shaped scratching posts for cats. Buy them here. Yay!
It's so handy having a model living in your living room! Every few days Laurel @ NY Models and I do a project just for fun. The above was made last week after a loooooong day for both of us of commercial work. We just went into the studio with some of my clothes and some of hers, and made a mess with pillow stuffing from one of Harri's sculpture projects. Voila, fun times.
